Had a great discussion with Ben Hopkins on The Warehouse Underground podcast. Ben is a thoughtful and engaging host. It was an enjoyable conversation, and I appreciate the opportunity to talk with Ben.

Warehouse teams are constantly looking for ways to improve performance while keeping operations moving. That balance was at the heart of my recent conversation on The Warehouse Underground. We talked about what actually helps teams improve over time, where friction tends to show up and which long-standing habits may be holding operations back. The key takeaway? Continuous improvement only happens when it's part of day-to-day work, not just something on paper.

Ben Hopkins' podcast, “The Warehouse Underground”, is my favorite in the Warehousing Space. This is because it is Operationally Focused.

I am friends with most of the Warehousing and Supply Chain podcasters, and they all bring excellent content to Supply Chain Professionals. However this is the only one that truly gives the Floor Worker deep insight into “doing the work”.

This podcast fills a need in the Supply Chain Space for Operationally focused material. And hopefully the trade publications, such as DC Velocity will take note and publish a column on operational matters.

We need operationally focused written media, too. This is for a symbolic reason: it shows that Floor Level Workers and Managers are valued as human beings.

This podcast, and the one I was on, “the Warehouse Insider” are the only outlets in the Profession that make the effort to speak to the Workers.

Ben — you didn't have to do this, but that's exactly who you are.

The Warehouse Underground episode we recorded together was one of the realest conversations I've had since the layoff. You let me be honest about what it actually feels like to go from leading a warehouse floor to sitting at home wondering what's next.

To everybody seeing this for the first time — go find that episode. Ben builds a community for the people who actually run the floor. No fluff. No corporate speak. Real talk for real operators.
